Are you passionate about TV, data, and driving revenue? Join Channel 4’s Sales Operations team as an entry-level analyst and help maximize content performance across linear, VoD, and social.
The Sales Operations team is responsible for the creation and delivery of maximising revenue across all delivery methods of viewing within the 4Sales portfolio in both linear, VoD and social. The team is required to deliver exceptional levels of service to Sales and our customers, in managing both direct and programmatic deals, executing innovative methods of creating value through systems, working practices and new trading opportunities, as well as communicating and forecasting programming content.
The department works with several external vendors and key stakeholders across the business to develop roadmaps, ensure smooth day-to-day operations and troubleshoot as well as providing the answers to any content, data, forecasting and operational questions. This role is set up to be the day to day point of contact for internal customers across Channel 4 including Ad Sales, Finance, Channel Management, Content Management and Commissioning.
You’ll want to put your excellent numerical and analytical abilities to use, enjoy drawing insights and finding solutions to problems and queries from all levels. You will also support the Commercial Performance Lead in managing the plethora of daily, weekly and monthly reports needed across the business to ensure C4 Sales maximises revenue across all commercial opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Become the ‘go to’ resource to answering Sales queries about C4 content whether that be on linear, VOD or social.
- Work with the team to run and manage daily, weekly and monthly reporting that is shared across the business.
- Liaise on a regular basis with Commissioning, Scheduling and Content Management in order to understand Ad Sales interests.
- Assist the wider Team in the creation and presentation of content and analytical decks.
- Support the operational side of the team when required on a regular basis.
- Support Agency Sales by providing packages and solutions that meet client demands.
- Always seeking to find new and better solutions for C4 and our clients.
Technical & Professional Skills
- The role is seen as an entry level role where you will be given the support and training needed to excel and be an expert in content performance.
- You will be working with a number of systems both in-house and industry tools, but full support will be provided.
Autonomy/Judgement/Decision Making
- This role is part of a small team to deliver insight and information about content performance to the C4 Sales team.
- They will find a safe space to express opinion and feel part of a team driving change and excellence.
Relationship Management
- This role will see you working closely with the commissioning and scheduling teams to be able to answer queries from Sales in a timely manner.
- You will also work closely with several stakeholders within Sales Operations, but also across the sales floor.
- It is vital to be able to advise and be a central source of information around content performance.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Be highly numerate and enjoy working with data.
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with analytics and forecasting along with the ability to present findings to a wider audience from previous work or studies.
- Enjoy identifying trends and drawing conclusions.
- Have Advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to collaborate with colleagues and other C4 teams.
- Motivated by finding innovative solutions.
- Enjoy watching TV.
- Keen to learn everything there is to know about TV Advertising.
Hybrid working
From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week. Having everyone in the office three days a week gives us more opportunity to build our high performing, inclusive culture; to collaborate and to learn and share with each other, as well as helping to coordinate a regular pattern of home and office working days.
