Community Partnerships Manager
Salary: £27,000 per annum

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable person to fill the role of Community Partnerships Manager.
The Community Partnerships Manager leads the work of the Department, ensuring activity is delivered in consultation with the Company and the communities we serve, is targeted at communities with the greatest need, and is cost effective.
Community Partnerships at Opera North devises and leads a year-round programme to reach the communities and individuals in the Leeds city region who experience barriers to arts engagement. The programme centres around relationship building, a ticket scheme (free or subsidised) for our performances, and support for new audiences in accessing transport or other accessibility needs.
In 2018 Opera North was awarded Theatre of Sanctuary status for our work with refugees and asylum-seekers, which is largely guided by the Community Partnerships team.
The Community Partnerships team advises the wider Company on emerging thinking and best practice, training opportunities and awareness of the wider context in which this work is happening.
Community engagement is a two-way conversation. As well as giving access to performances and events at Opera North, we also seek to learn from our communities, deepening our understanding of the barriers to attendance, and responding to community initiatives and requests.
Knowledge, skills, experience
- Professional experience of working in the cultural sector
- Experience of project co-ordination
- Experience of community-arts sector
- Experience of collating data and writing reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a systematic way, manage multiple events and projects simultaneously
- Good organisational and planning skills
