Do you make content which people want to share? Are you a whizz at video editing and copywriting? Do you keep an eye on the cutting edge of social media trends?
Possible creates, builds, and shares ways people can take meaningful action on climate change. Combining personal and local actions into larger systemic change, they face climate dread with a can-do attitude and sense of fun. Whether helping people fix their electronics, plugging community-owned solar into train lines or lobbying MPs on clean heat, everything they do is about inspiring more people to take ambitious climate action.
As a social media officer, you’ll maintain Possible’s social media presence across a range of platforms, communicating with existing supporters and engaging new people across key audiences. No prior experience in the climate sector is necessary for this role, as everything needed will be taught.
You’ll create exciting and engaging content which brings this climate charity's work to life and flies on social media. You’ll have a good understanding of which platforms, tone and style are best suited to reach which audiences. Additionally, you’ll monitor and evaluate analytics to adapt work based on what resonates on social channels.
In this small communications team, there is a lot of crossover between roles, so there may be occasional involvement in other functions such as web and press, as well as sharing administrative responsibilities. But don’t worry–training will be provided!
Working with others in the Possible team, you’ll lead month-on-month growth in social media reach and following, bringing more of the target audiences into the campaign for climate action. You'll also have opportunities to contribute to general marketing, media, outreach, fundraising, and campaign strategy.
