As the Goldsmiths’ Centre, the UK’s leading charity for the professional goldsmiths, grows its activities UK-wide and celebrates 10 years, we’re looking for a Digital Marketing Executive to shape and grow the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s digital presence and reach.

Working across teams and with freelancers, you will engage members of the jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries as well as consumers with the charity’s programmes and wider communities through both traditional and digital marketing. You will have a true passion for creating and commissioning compelling content in a variety of formats for social media channels, e-newsletters, print and the charity’s website. Your role will help to raise our charity’s profile, build relationships and conversations with current and new audiences, grow enquiries and sales and tell the hidden stories of the goldsmiths’ craft. 

This role will come alive for someone who has bags of energy, is a good team-player, loves creative thinking and can analyse how to best grow the charity’s audiences and levels of engagement. A self-starter with a hands-on approach, you will not be afraid to get stuck in and put into practice your experience of creating audience-focused content.   

 

Responsibilities

  • Create and commission original content (written, visual, film and audio) for a wide range of digital platforms, including social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn), website and e-newsletters

  • Run digital platforms day-to-day, interacting with subscribers and supporting cross-promotion, using the Centre’s Content Management System, social media scheduling tools, Customer Relationship Management system (Microsoft Dynamics/Click Dimensions) and external platforms

  • Working with the Marketing & Communications Manager, conceptualise, build and optimise social media advertising campaigns

  • Write project briefs and proposals for film makers, photographers and freelancers

  • Report on the performance of digital and marketing campaign activities (using analytical and monitoring tools) and make recommendations on changes to content and programmes

  • Ensure that the Centre’s CRM contact database is kept clean and up to date to ensure effective communications working with the Marketing & Comunications Manager and Office Manager

  • Support the Marketing & Communications Manager with the production of what’s on guides and other printed materials, writing copy, sourcing imagery and proof-reading content.

  • Capture content for social media, represent and assist at internal and external events when needed

  • Oversee the image library adding new photography and correct image credits

  • Raise purchase orders and oversee process of payments for marketing activities

  • Research key outlets and coordinate the circulation of promotional materials and upload event listings on online listing sites

  • Keep abreast of digital content trends, technologies, tools and platforms and key influencers that can help to innovate content, drive reach and engagement with Centre audiences

  • Perform such duties consistent with your role as may form time to time be assigned to you anywhere within the Goldsmiths’ Centre

 

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • The ideal candidate will have excellent written and content creation skills
  • You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of digital platforms and production formats, strong data analysis skills and be highly organised
  • A self-starter and team-player, you will need an audience-led approach to creating content for multi-channel communications
  • You will be resourceful and detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • A strong interest in craft, jewellery, silversmithing, design or creative industries
  • Demonstrable experience of planning, producing, commissioning and editing digital content from photography, film, animations to audio for digital channels
  • Experience of copywriting for web (SEO), e-newsletters and social media for a variety of audiences and contexts
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of a variety of digital content management systems (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Vimeo and Mailchimp)
  • A natural team player with a proactive, enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated attitude
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
  • IT literate – confident in using Microsoft Office applications, CMS systems, meta data, Adobe Photoshop, Mailchimp or Click Dimensions, social media monitoring tools, Google Analytics, CRM systems and video editing software
