The Stage Media Company Ltd, based in London Bridge, is dedicated to providing up-to-date news and services for the UK’s theatre, performing arts and book publishing industry with two key titles: The Stage and The Bookseller. Both The Stage and The Bookseller are established leaders within their respective fields, offering industry news, authoritative reviews/interviews and insightful features.
The events producer plays a pivotal part in driving the company’s vibrant events portfolio forward by bringing a thoughtful and commercial understanding of what makes for successful events, overseeing the planning, logistics, and delivery of both impressive live and virtual events. Reporting to the head of events, the events producer is responsible for ensuring every element of an event is delivered to an impeccable standard, aligns with the company’s creative vision, and meets agreed budgets, timelines, and objectives.
The role involves managing multiple events simultaneously across the business events’ portfolio while ensuring a seamless experience for attendees and clients.
Responsibilities
Event planning
- Plan and deliver exceptional live and virtual events in collaboration with internal teams such as sales, editorial, marketing, and external suppliers.
- Manage events impeccably through the full lifecycle, from research and scoping to delivery and post-event review.
- With support from the head of events, provide budget planning ensuring the events meet financial targets and drive wider business revenue goals, reporting on these regularly throughout the events cycle.
- Work with commercial teams to maximise revenue generating opportunities including delegate revenue stream prospects.
Event production
- Translate stakeholder objectives into engaging, impactful and high-quality event experiences that successfully reflect our brand.
- Co-ordinate logistics, suppliers, venues, AV, staging, catering, and digital platforms, including platform development, to ensure flawless execution.
- Oversee event operations, including rehearsals, technical run-throughs, backstage teams, and successful on-the-day delivery.
- Produce fantastic live experiences by sourcing, briefing and directing backstage and technical teams to ensure flawless execution.
- Manage event documentation such as schedules, guest lists, vendor details, and risk assessments for all events.
- Ensure all live events meet required health and safety, insurance, and compliance standards.
Community & brand development
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure consistent branding and strong event positioning.
- Support marketing plans from concept to post-event communications to grow audience engagement.
- Measure event impact and contribute ideas to enhance content, reach, and overall experience.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, PR agencies, and industry stakeholders to expand event visibility and community engagement.
- Represent the events and organisation within the wider industry as needed.
Knowledge, skills & experience
- Proven experience of event logistics success
- Strong experience of managing suppliers, stakeholders and internal teams
- Proven commercial acumen with successful budgeting experience
- Desire for community building and experience delivery within existing brand values
- Substantial experience producing live and virtual events
- Are a strategic thinker and are challenged by complex problem-solving
- Have an incredibly strong background in event production, budget management, team leadership, and client or stakeholder communication.
- Are highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Have strong time management and deadline-driven.

Additional information
Normal working hours are 9am - 5pm, with occasional evening or weekend work to cover events. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, requiring at least three days a week at The Stage’s office on Bermondsey Street, SE1, with opportunities for remote work on the other day.
