Salary: circa £80,000 per annum plus excellent benefits.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, evening and weekend working will be required.
Interviews: Thursday 7 July or Friday 15 July, and a second stage interview on Friday 22 July
Are you ready to play a major role in the leadership and direction of this Southampton based theatre?
The new executive director will provide effective leadership and direction to the Marketing, Community & Education (Engage), IT and Operational departments. They will ensure that the organisation increases its assets and is a strong financially stable and sustainable business with excellent controls on overheads. And that the Theatre is preserved and maintained and plays a part in the cultural life of our local community and the wider regional and national arenas.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a commercial strategy that maximises the ancillary trading potential of Mayflower Theatre’s property and assets, and secures profitable earned income from commercial activity, including ticket sales
- Oversee and develop the effective provision of all operational and commercial services
- Monitor income targets against budgets for commercial sales and operational overheads
- Oversee the promotion of a positive health and safety culture across the organisation, lead on integrating environmental sustainability across the business reducing the Theatre’s carbon footprint
- Support the development and implementation of Marketing, Sales and Engage strategies across the organisation
- Provide inspirational leadership and have line management responsibility for the Marketing & Sales, Engage, IT, Technical & Customer Operations departments
- Participate fully as a member of the Executive team
Knowledge, skills, experience
- Executive and operational experience
- Demonstrate senior leadership experience in directing and motivating high performing teams, including setting and achieving ambitious targets
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies for key operational areas
- Experience in setting, monitoring and reporting against budgets, and in ongoing evaluation and reporting on projects
