We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and confident individual to join our Nosy Crow Sales team as a Field Sales Executive, working across Nosy Crow’s fast growing and award-winning Children’s list.

Nosy Crow is a multi-award winning, independent children’s publishing company based in London. We make child focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12. This role is ideal for someone eager to continue their sales career in a fast-growing company, which produces a broad range of beautiful books.

As part of the Nosy Crow Sales team you will work as a brand ambassador, responsible for identifying new account opportunities in the gift and toy sector, forming relationships with customers across the UK and helping to support our Independent customers and grow the Nosy Crow business.

You’ll need to be friendly and determined, with a keen eye for detail, and good at working as part of a team. Reporting to the Field Sales Manager, you will also support the Field Sales team on their accounts, helping with sales administration, ordering, presentations and sales materials. 

The role is a full-time position and is a hybrid role, working a minimum of three days per week in our office near London Bridge. There will also be opportunities to visit new accounts alongside our Field Sales team. 

Reporting to our Field Sales Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new account opportunities in the gift and toy sector, forming relationships with customers across the UK and helping to support our Independent customers and grow the Nosy Crow business. You will also provide support to our Area Sales Managers, helping with sales administration, orders and materials. 

 

Key responsibilities and tasks      

  • Identifying new business opportunities across the UK, helping to open accounts and suggest relevant titles
  • Supporting the Field Sales team across a range of accounts, including order input, data analysis and presentations for customer meetings
  • Assisting with preparing presentations, order forms and other sales materials.
  • Oversee book mailings and sample requests across the Field Sales team.
  • Create and schedule monthly customer newsletters and communications via Outlook and Mailchimp
  • Liaising with our operations teams and Nosy Crow’s distributors, Harper Collins LTD, to ensure efficient processing of customer orders, stock reserves, stock holding requests and returns.
  • Attending Trade Fairs, Educational Fairs and Gift Fairs as required.
  • Working with the PR, Digital and Marketing teams to ensure the Field Sales events and mailings are executed efficiently
  • Maintenance of Field Sales accounts database and reporting systems on Excel and Harper Collins systems

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Would suit a Sales Assistant looking for their next role in publishing
  • Very good organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • A very close eye for detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to write persuasive copy
  • Experience working with sales data and Excel for sales analysis
  • Experience of Powerpoint and Adobe is preferred
  • Confidence in building and maintaining relationships both internally and with customers
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and deadlines in a busy and fast paced environment
  • Willingness to be fully involved in our busy and fun office
  • A keen interest in children’s books
