Are you passionate about international publishing and children's books?

We are responsible for licensing translation rights in all Wizarding World titles and J.K. Rowling’s children’s books. We manage the publication of the Harry Potter series in all translated languages, for which we have significant, long-term publisher relationships in a large number of territories. We work across all aspects of international publishing, liaising with our international partners on editorial, marketing and sales.

This role will be an integral part of the International Publishing team, Wizarding World, providing administrative support on a day-to-day basis, and supporting on a wide range of publishing projects and different territories. The role offers the opportunity for development and taking on further responsibilities according to experience, skills and interests.


Responsibilities

Team Support

  • Manage team documents, contracts and spreadsheets
  • Support the team by reviewing and approving translated editions (covers, copyright notices, interiors), marketing plans and other materials from international partners worldwide
  • Support with contract renewals and process contracts through DocuSign
  • Create presentations of international publishing projects
  • Schedule meetings for bookfairs across the team
  • Oversee bookings for bookfairs (meeting tables, flights, hotels, restaurants) and other overseas travel for the team
  • Organise publisher meetings and additional events
  • Manage general enquiries for Wizarding World translation rights
  • Work with the Brand and Franchise team to monitor and engage with international Wizarding World social media accounts
  • Work with the Brand and Franchise Team Assistant to ensure international campaigns are shared company wide

 

What we’re looking for

  • An interest in children’s books and international publishing
  • Desire to pursue a career in a sales/licensing role
  • A personable and proactive character and ability to communicate with people at all levels, with a helpful and accommodating approach
  • Excellent at prioritising heavy workloads, working under pressure and multitasking
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and as part of a busy team
  • Solution-driven in all aspects of your work, with a willingness to learn
  • Cultural awareness is essential and foreign language skills are a bonus
  • A knowledge of and love for the Wizarding World!

The Blair Partnership is a literary and entertainment agency. We offer our clients a broad range of services including rights management, client representation and franchise management. As part of those services, we help to manage several companies on behalf of our client J.K. Rowling. Those companies include Pottermore and Bronte.
