Salary: £25,000 - £28,000

You’ll report to the head of inventory for Octopus and Hachette Children’s divisions, ensuring stock availability and a consistent, proactive inventory management approach is applied across these divisions, using data and analysis to maintain appropriate levels of stock, liaising with third parties such as warehouses and printers, and be the first point of contact for internal and external inventory queries. You’ll be responsible for inputting Print Instructions in Biblio and updating other relevant information when a print decision has been made, as well as other ad hoc projects and reporting as required.
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and highly numerate candidate with excellent attention to detail; someone who is process-driven and methodical, with good communication and relationship-building skills. You should be able to work under guidance and independently. You must be knowledgeable about and interested in books. You will need to be good or very good at Excel, and ideally have prior experience of Biblio and/or SAP.

The Inventory team sits in the wider Group Operations team, which provides sales support, data analysis, and stock management for Hachette’s seven major and award-winning trade publishing divisions, Little Brown, Hodder & Stoughton, Orion, Headline, John Murray Press, Quercus, and Hachette Children’s Group.
Across these divisions Hachette publishes some of the most prestigious authors in the world, including Harlan Coben, Ian Rankin, Stephen King, Enid Blyton, JK Rowling, James Patterson and Stephenie Meyer.
