Help bring editorial content to life by sourcing, archiving, and preparing stunning images in this exciting 12-month internship!

Service95 is a global editorial platform that brings a cross-cultural perspective to features, recommendations, video content and events – diving into topics across arts, fashion, travel, books, social justice and more.

The junior picture researcher will be responsible for doing research for all articles across editorial and book club. This also involves archiving and labelling all picture files and assisting with general administration and processes for the creative team including keeping track of the image budget.

We are looking for an individual who is confident in visual storytelling. You will need to have strong communication skills to liaise with PR and photo agencies to source pictures and negotiate image rates where possible.

 

Key activities

  • Research pictures from photo libraries and request imagery from PR sources.
  • Check, archive and label all picture files.
  • Order high-resolution pictures and make them ready for publication including cropping, resizing, and uploading to WordPress and Mailchimp.
  • Maintain good relationships with image libraries.
  • Negotiate image rates as required.
  • Assist with general administration and processes on the picture desk.

 

What we're looking for

  • An exceptional eye for seeking out compelling imagery.
  • Photoshop knowledge is essential.
  • The capability to manage priorities within tight editorial deadlines and work ahead.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity using WordPress is desirable but not essential.
  • Training in InDesign and other editing tools is desired but not essential.
