The Learning and Participation Assistant is a new, part-time role that will support the administration and co-ordination of participatory music making workshops and concerts as part of Wigmore Hall’s learning and participation programme. 

Following an induction and introduction to Wigmore Hall and the Learning programme, the Learning and Participation Assistant will take on the following areas of work, working with colleagues to ensure activity is led in line with Wigmore Hall Learning’s values, vision, mission and core practices: 

  • Event co-ordination
  • Safeguarding
  • Finance and contracting
  • Marketing and communications
  • Monitoring and evaluation

The Learning and Participation Assistant will work closely with colleagues in the learning and participation team as well as artists, partners and participants to co-ordinate participatory music making workshops and concerts with and for families, schools, young people and people living with dementia.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Able to handle administrative duties
  • Comfortable with managing time to meet deadlines and prioritise task
  • Attentive to details
  • Clear communication
  • Enjoys open collaboration with team members
  • An interest in participatory music making
  • A shared passion for Wigmore Hall Learning’s values, and a strong sense of your own motivations and values
  • A willingness to learn from others, to share your perspective with others, and to engage in reflective practice within a supportive environment
  • A commitment to and interest in:
    • inclusive and anti-discriminatory practice, including a commitment against racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism and other forms of discrimination
    • trauma-informed practice and supporting the wellbeing of others and yourself
    • good practice in safeguarding
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook or equivalent applications
  • You could have some experience of administration and/or event co-ordination, though this is not essential, and your experience could be through informal, educational, voluntary or professional contexts
