We are seeking a highly motivated, organised, and enthusiastic Literary Office Assistant. The role supports WME’s London-based Literary department as well as the HR & Operations teams, involving administrative duties and the general efficient running of the office. 



Literary department

  • Providing support to the Literary assistants, coordinators, and agents when desks are particularly busy with various admin tasks
  • Short term periods covering Literary Assistant absences. When providing cover, this would involve general administrative and editorial support to the agent by managing agent’s calendar, email, and phones
  • Scheduling and Event planning during client visits and Book Fairs (dinners, author events).
  • Scheduling publisher meetings with for Literary agents
  • Reading manuscripts and providing reports for the International Rights team
  • Managing and logging the physical books around the office
  • Updating department databases
  • Reading unsolicited submissions to agents
  • Handling incoming and outgoing department post
  • Talent spotting and market research


Operations department

  • Answering phone calls, distributing post, and other administrative duties
  • Providing daily cover on reception
  • Providing general support, with occasional longer-term projects
  • Covering staff absence on Literary agent assistant desks, reception, and mailroom
  • Running errands for staff as required
  • General admin, ad hoc research, and projects as they arise


Knowledge, skills, experience
