Are you organised and self-motivated? Looking for a role that involves developing and implementing marketing campaigns?

Join our team to deliver a radical new approach to delivering audiences to The Factory and Manchester International Festival, that readdresses the balance of power and equity in the arts. This role supports the marketing and audience managers and the head of marketing and audiences in the marketing, promotion and audience development of the Factory to the widest possible audience, maximising public profile, attendance and revenue.



  • To devise and implement marketing campaigns for a range of events to meet agreed income targets, working closely with a range of stakeholders including producers, press, digital and external venues
  • To provide marketing support for events and work collaboratively to implement the audience development strategy to develop new ways to reach new audiences
  • Lead on the support for the Factory Academy and schools programme working closely with Creative Engagement
  • To work closely with Creative Engagement team to deliver our audience targets, working with and supporting our neighbourhood organisers in different communities
  • To work closely with the digital team to develop creative digital content to complement marketing campaigns
  • To help monitor and assess the effectiveness of marketing activity and amend campaign activity as required to reach income and audience targets
  • To research, develop and help manage relationships with promotional partners, community partners and other arts organisations to broaden the Factory’s profile and build awareness
  • To act as a brand guardian, maintaining our external communications and advocating for this across the organisation



  • Actively engaging with the organisation’s vision and policies regarding equality, representation and inclusion, artistic ambition, participation and engagement, health and safety, evaluation and monitoring
  • Training and talent development is central to the way that MIF and The Factory work. All job roles are expected to contribute to our training and development activity, contributing time to supporting our training programmes on site and occasionally off site
  •  Any other duties that are commensurate with the post


Knowledge, skills, experience


  • Experience of developing and implementing marketing campaigns  
  • Experience of targeting a range of audiences via online and print media
  • Experience of using social media, digital tracking tools, and updating websites
  • Organised, self-motivated, with the ability to work across a range of events simultaneously and work towards tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational, administration and communication skills
  • Accurate with a good eye for detail  
  • Commitment to championing representation and inclusion at every level of the organisation with a proven ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds



  • Knowledge of box office systems  
  • Enthusiasm for training, mentoring and support of emerging talent
