Salary: £30,000 - £32,000 (London); £27,600-£29,400 (Sheffield), depending on experience (+bonus +benefits)

Location: The role will be based at our London office (Carmelite House), or Sheffield office (Wards Brewery) or with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join Orion’s award-winning and dynamic Communications team, working on a varied spread of fiction, non-fiction and gift.

As a highly organised and passionate campaigner, you will be embedded within the Communications team, leading and supporting on a wide range of marketing campaigns.

 

What you'll be doing

  • You'll play a key role in every step of a book's journey, from acquisition to publication and beyond – devising and communicating creative and effective marketing plans, creating eye-catching and impactful consumer campaigns, collaborating with retailers and influencers, planning and implementing paid and organic digital campaigns, working with partners and third party stakeholders, maintaining excellent relationships with authors and agents, and reporting on campaign performance. 
  • As well as managing your own campaigns, you will work closely with senior team members to support on a selection of Orion's biggest brand and lead titles.

 

Who we're looking for

  • We’re looking for a marketer with experience working in a fast-paced environment and who is ready to take the next step in their career.
  • Although publishing experience is not essential, a passion for our books and gifts and an affinity to the Orion values is a must.
  • Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is highly organised and full of ideas. 
  • You'll have experience in copywriting and digital marketing, and a proven track record in effectively developing skills in new areas. 
  • You'll have experience managing your own marketing campaigns, and ideally in supporting senior team members on major launches. 
  • Above all, you'll be a top-class communicator and be able to demonstrate exemplary attention to detail – as well as bringing initiative, creativity and passion to your work.
  • Beyond campaigns, you’ll have an interest in consumer trends and new ways of marketing, and will consistently look at ways to feed this awareness into your day-to-day work.
