Want to help more progressive organisations use digital mobilisation to drive real-world change?

At Forward Action, we partner with progressive causes to deliver digital mobilisation programmes that drive change.

From Refuge to Greenpeace UK, progressive organisations are using digital mobilisation to activate hundreds of thousands of campaigners and raise millions of pounds online. Forward Action believes that a digital mobilisation model - where organisations use digital channels to drive thousands of supporters to take advocacy, fundraising and volunteering actions - can revolutionise campaigning and fundraising in the NGO sector. However, its potential is still largely untapped in the UK. By helping progressive organisations build digital mobilisation programmes, we aim to unlock that potential.

As a partnerships officer, you'll run the day-to-day operations of our partnerships programme, acting as the primary point of contact for prospective partners and laying the foundations for a genuinely collaborative and impactful partnership (which is why we call them partners, not clients). You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills in relationship building by meeting prospective partners and communicating Forward Action’s vision for how mobilisation can help them change the world for the better.

This is a permanent role working 4 or 5 days a week - it’s up to you.

Run the day-to-day operation of our partnerships programme

  • Be the primary point of contact for prospective partners over email, from their first interaction with us through to the point we start work together
  • Research and identify potential partners
  • Identify and organise opportunities for our partnerships team to share advice and learnings with both current and prospective partners
  • Run our project setup process, ensuring we’re completing all the administrative setup work needed for each new project
  • Assist with quoting and, occasionally, proposal writing for smaller projects

Develop your skills in building relationships with prospective partners

  • Attend sector events to network and make connections with potential partners
  • Join calls with our Partnerships Director and new prospective partners to discuss how Forward Action can help them hit their goals
  • As a development opportunity in the role, you will act as the new partnership lead on some projects, building relationships and leading on the response to briefs.

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Experience of account management or equivalent relationship-based roles in a fundraising, events, sales or marketing environment
  • Excellent organisation and attention-to-detail
  • Being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • A positive, problem-solving attitude
  • Dedication to helping build a fairer, more progressive society
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • A proactive self-starter who is able to take the initiative in your work

Let us know if you have the following (not essential)

  • Experience working in the charity or NGO sector
  • Experience of digital mobilisation, campaigning or fundraising
  • Experience working at an agency
  • Experience of proposal writing
  • Experience of presenting at pitches or internal meetings

We also love a quick learner. We don’t expect you to know or have done everything when you start - we’ll be looking for you to pick up new skills and knowledge quickly, then run with them.

We actively encourage applicants from communities that experience discrimination - for example, on the basis of race, disability, socio-economic status or gender identity - to apply for this role. Please state in your application that you found this role through Creative Access.

To ensure our hiring process is as fair as possible, we run an anonymised application procedure. So please remove your name and contact information from your CV before uploading it, and only enter these details in the online form.

If you’re shortlisted for the role, you’ll be asked to complete a 90-minute task from home in the week of 6th June. A small number of candidates will then be invited to interview either in person or via video call the week of 20th June.
