Schott Music is an international music publisher, and this position is with the London office’s Contemporary Music Department, which is responsible for promoting the composers and concert works in the Schott Music catalogue.

The role of Promotion and Production Assistant is to support the Head of Promotion and Head of Contemporary Music in the smooth running of the department through vital promotional and administrative work.



  • Promotion – support promotional activity through a variety of tasks including circulating scores, recordings and reviews of new works; planning projects around anniversaries and major events; participating in meetings; representing Schott at concerts outside of normal office hours; and assisting Head of Promotion and international colleagues with other related work
  • Marketing – oversee the creation of and contribute to the Schott Journal, regular newsletters and e-marketing; drive social media engagement; keep up-to-date composer profiles, flyers and brochures; create new marketing material as required
  • Administration – handle day-to-day administration of London composers; primary responsibility for maintaining office IT systems (including Asana, DISCO and internal databases), libraries and promotional stock; and other office duties as required
  • Copyright and Royalties – register works with PRS for Music and MCPS, provide accurate copyright information to Schott’s international offices for collection society registration and royalty setup
  • Production – administration of production schedule for Schott London sales titles, assume responsibility for research and supply of back catalogue works
  • Hire library – support the hire library call service, covering for the Hire Librarian during absences


Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Self-motivated and feeds on a high level of independent work, but also values collaboration
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator
  • Can think creatively and problem solve
  • Thrives in a small team where they’re juggling lots of different types of work and has a willingness to engage with all tasks large and small
  • Motivated to learn new systems and skills
  • Loves contemporary classical music and is excited about attending concerts and events outside working hours
  • Previous experience in a similar administrative or assistant role
