We are looking for a stock controller to join our retail team on a 12 month fixed term contract. 

Southbank Centre is a national flagship cultural institution. It is Europe’s largest arts centre and one of the UK’s top five visitor attractions, occupying an 11-acre site that sits in the midst of London’s most vibrant cultural quarter on the South Bank of the Thames.

The role

The stock controller takes responsibility for the control of all incoming and outgoing stock, and the safety and security of the retail stockrooms, maintaining a well organised, efficient and accurate operation for the retail shops and website.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a stock room environment, can share examples of managing stock and deliveries and is well organised we would love to hear from you.


Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Has extensive experience of working in a retail warehouse or stockroom
  • Is able to handle large amounts of stock and deliveries around the site
  • Has strong numerical and IT skills
  • Is well organised with a methodical approach to work and ability to problem solve
  • Has outstanding attention to detail with a track record of working efficiently and accurately with detailed materials
  • Has good knowledge of retail operations, including reporting, stock-handling and stock takes
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all communication methods including face-to-face, email, phone
  • Is a team player with the ability to lead by example
  • Has a proactive, hands-on and flexible approach
  • Is able to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the role that diversity and inclusion play in the activities of the Southbank Centre as a whole and in the work of this particular job.
