Are you motivated, efficient, passionate about reading and looking to step into a career in publishing? 

If so, consider joining the RCW literary agency which manages some of the world’s most successful, notable and highly prized authors. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in our friendly foreign rights team, providing administrative support for the team and assisting our rights manager. We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent attention to detail, a strong ability to manage a varied workload and the ability to prioritise effectively. This is a full-time position, with a minimum of three days per week in our office near Notting Hill in London.

  • Provide administrative support for our rights manager, including drafting and processing contracts, invoicing and following up on payments using Bradbury Phillips
  • Managing the applications for our authors’ foreign tax forms across the department
  • Provide general administrative support for the department 
  • Coordinate and book travel and participation for the team at various international book fairs
  • Assist in all aspects of author care by communicating closely with clients, publishers and agency departments
  • Manage the agency’s catalogues for the London and Frankfurt book fairs


Knowledge, skills, experience

If you’re a fast learner, highly diligent and organised, and are confident working with Microsoft Office, you don’t need publishing experience to be considered for this role as we will provide the necessary training.

  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a busy team
  • Sociable and outgoing personality; willing to interact with other industry figures and authors alike
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong eye for detail and accuracy, particularly when drafting or reviewing contracts
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills 
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Admin experience preferred 
  • Foreign languages an asset but not crucial
  • Interest in literature essential
