Yale University Press is looking to recruit a part-time Sales Administrator to join the friendly and dynamic team of their trading subsidiary, Yale Representation Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to a team of 5 UK sales representatives, and customer service to a prestigious portfolio of client publishers.

The purpose of this role is to provide sales support to the field sales team and direct customer service to the Yale Representation Ltd client publishers on an administrative level.



  • Collating & submitting bibliographic data to wholesalers and retail head offices on behalf of Yale Representation's client publishers, and dealing with queries
  • Liaising with client publishers to coordinate the collation and distribution of sales materials to the field sales force
  • Providing sales administrative support, including processing orders and dealing with title and promotional queries from book trade customers and client publishers
  • Updating and managing the CRM system, including following up on leads and sharing them with the sales team
  • Managing content on the Yale Representation Ltd website
  • Producing e-marketing campaigns for book trade customers
  • Administrative and organisational support for Yale Representation sales conferences and client meetings



Knowledge, skills, experience


  • Sales or customer support experience, ideally in a bookselling or publishing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and an ability to multitask
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexibility
  • Working knowledge of Excel


  • Working knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Familiarity with Nielsen BookData
