Subtitler - Accessibility & Access Services- Operations




We are currently looking for subtitlers to join our access services team! Do you have great attention to detail and the ability to proofread, review and correct text and scripts?

We will be a digitally led entertainment and media company that creates and brings brilliant content to audiences, wherever, whenever and however they choose.

We are currently looking for subtitlers to join our access services team, producing live and pre-recorded subtitles for the full range of ITV content to enable our Deaf and hard-of-hearing viewers, as well as those for whom English is not a first language, to enjoy our programmes. Whether you are brand new to subtitling or an experienced subtitler, we are looking for great team players with exceptional attention to detail and great spelling and grammar who can perform well under pressure. 

The team works from early morning to late evening, seven days a week, 365 days a year, so you will have to be comfortable with working evenings and weekends as part of a 37.5 hours a week rota pattern.


Some key responsibilities include:

  • Providing subtitles for both live and recorded TV and on-demand programmes
  • Participation within a continuous process of performance improvement on a team and individual level
  • Meeting and exceeding expected accuracy, productivity and utilisation targets
  • Troubleshooting of technical issues
  • Supporting the investigation and response to customer complaints or enquiries


To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Ability to proofread, review and correct own work as well as text and scripts created by others to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Able to edit text or audio into clear subtitles which retain the full sense and flavour of the programme
  • A clear and confident speaking voice (as speech recognition is a key technology)
  • An interest in TV and a strong awareness of news and current affairs
  • Must be proactive in tackling difficult issues and in identifying opportunities for improvement


  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK Access Services industry is desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of the global TV and Media industry is desirable

Salary range
