The Labour Party is recruiting 21 trainee organisers to join our team in summer 2022. Our trainee organisers will be at the forefront of the next general election campaign, supporting our parliamentary candidates, local parties and our regional, Scottish and Welsh offices with the essential work of delivering election winning campaigns.

Knowledge, skills, experience

  • Successful candidates will have excellent organisational skills, the ability to work proactively with a variety of stakeholders, the ability to successfully plan projects, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate these skills whether secured through political campaigning activity, or through other areas of their personal, voluntary, community or professional background

Trainee organisers will benefit from a comprehensive programme of online and residential training, as well frontline experience gained from working on elections, by-elections and local campaigns. As this is a trainee scheme, we are looking for individuals who are willing and open to learning and constant development throughout the scheme.

The Labour Party, supported by our Diversity and Inclusion Board and our Staff Networks, are committed to ensuring we are recruiting staff from diverse backgrounds, and that we are a welcoming and inclusive workplace. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of background. We are particularly keen to offer opportunities, where possible, to people from groups currently under-represented in our workforce, such as women, people from an ethnically diverse background, and disabled people. We are committed to appointing a diverse cohort of Trainee Organisers and will be running a workshop for people from under-represented groups and those with characteristics protected by the Equality Act 2010. We are members of the Disability Confident scheme which support employers to make the most of the talents disabled people can bring to the workplace.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend an assessment centre w/c 20th June, before final interviews at regional, Scottish and Welsh offices in July.

Travel expenses for assessment centres & interviews will be paid. Applicants should be available to start the role the beginning of August 2022.
