You’ll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home. The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps. You can read more about the qualification being offered for this apprenticeship below.Commercial Affairs is responsible for the financial, legal and business aspects of programme making and is tasked with negotiating all contractual, financial and other deal terms between Channel 4 and programme suppliers, in particular independent companies who make programmes on Channel 4’s behalf. The commissioning teams are supported by Legal and Business Affairs Managers and Production Finance Managers who work with commissioning editors to agree the editorial, financial and contractual details of each project, and to manage the business issues arising. Responsibilities<ul><li>Preparation of agendas and meeting minutes for Business Approval Board and Programme Finance Committee.</li><li>Coding and undertaking necessary checks to process invoices.</li><li>Preparation and analysis of spend to date reports.</li><li>Maintenance of some departmental spreadsheets.  </li><li>Creating Journals for error correction within the team and sending them on to the relevant management accountant.</li><li>General admin and team support to include diary management, meeting organisation, and organisation of away day activities.</li><li>Running transactional reports from Business Objects (reporting system) and carrying out ad-hoc reconciliations and analysis.</li><li>Assisting the Controller of Production Finance with the management of the Creative Diversity department budget.</li><li>Ensure that all essential information is electronically filed and easily accessible across the Production Finance team;</li><li>Support the production finance team with other duties as required by the role.  </li></ul> Knowledge, skills, experienceAs part of the application process you’ll be asked to tell us how you meet the essential criteria listed below. Communication – e.g. writing emails, completing an application form or essay, or if you have a hobby that involves creative writing. </li><li>Attention to detail -  e.g. Cashing up on tills or proofreading coursework.</li><li>Organisation skills and ability to prioritise tasks - e.g. Planning events whether personal or for professional purposes, as well as managing work life balance, for example working whilst doing coursework/exams. </li><li>An understanding of and a passion for Channel 4's <a href="https://www.channel4.com/corporate/about-4/what-we-do/channel-4s-remit" target="_blank">remit </a></li><li>Confirm you have Maths &amp; English GCSE Grade C (4) or above</li><li>Numerate and confident dealing with figures</li><li>Highly diligent, organised, and self-motivated</li><li>Computer literacy with experience of using Excel and MS Power-point</li></ul> Eligibility criteria<ul><li>You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply.
