This is an exciting opportunity to join our London team as an Account Executive or Senior Account Executive, working across both consumer and trade accounts.

We are looking for capable and confident operators with a good, but still developing, understanding of the required basic media and communication skills and who know the media tools available to create the required media coverage in all PR areas.


Accountabilities

Agency Business

  • Understand and meet guidelines on best business practices, including utilisation, daily timesheets, accurate billing, timely expense reports etc
  • May make presentations to small groups, both internal and to clients
  • Participate in professional development training and identify and utilise other opportunities for learning and continual improvement
  • Actively share knowledge
  • Support new business teams as required

Client Service

  • Implement and begin to manage day-to-day activities in partnership with clients
  • Read key publications daily across both trade and consumer titles. Share findings and implications for the business with your client, team or broader agency as appropriate.
  • Understand and stay up to date with clients’ businesses and industry news (issues, marketing objectives, technology and products, competition, marketplace trends), by reading business plans, researching the marketplace, attending meetings and asking questions
  • Develop organised, professional, concise written materials and emails that provide “value-added” relevance to the client’s business

Media Relations

  • Serve as day-to-day contact with influencers on client’s behalf
  • Research, understand and anticipate influencers’ interests, needs and preferences in order to provide value-added service to editors, to brief clients and to build relationships
  • Understand the trade press and liaise with journalists to provide information relevant to their audiences
  • Proactively negotiate client inclusion in coverage; propose story ideas, benchmark criteria for product reviews; educate on broader marketplace themes and schedule meetings
  • Solicit feedback from influencers regarding clients’ competition and industry
  • Reactively answer influencers’ questions, coordinate requests and provide useful information
  • Research and draft press releases
  • Mailing list preparation and coordination of mailings

Digital Skills

  • Update social media channels
  • Identify appropriate social media channels to support client needs
  • Monitor social media opportunities

People Management

  • May coach, mentor and motivate work placements or trainees

Press Cuttings

  • Manage cuttings service for allocated clients
  • Monitor press opportunities and feature/story angles for weekly media summary


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Previous Public Relations or similar industry experience in both Trade and Consumer (12 months)
  • Digital campaign and social media experience in a Public Relations environment
  • An active interest in the relevant client sectors, including both trade and consumer
