DDA performs a wide spectrum of media relations, publicity, event management (through DDA Event Management) and marketing tasks, either globally or targeted to specific international markets. Festival and market experiences include the Sundance, Berlin, SXSW, Tribeca, Cannes, Venice, Telluride, Toronto, London and Dubai film festivals (among others).

As an account manager, you are an ambitious and proactive member of the awards team with experience working in the entertainment industry and will be a key influence on the development and implementation of awards strategy for clients. You’ll be responsible alongside the Director of Series/Account Director/SAM for leading the relationship with the client and act as a trusted advisor to help them achieve the best possible outcomes ensuring that as an agency, we are meeting their awards priorities and publicity needs. You’ll build strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor to help them to achieve the best possible outcomes through your own work and the work of the team that you support. You’ll also assist with client development, growth, retention and profitability for DDA's portfolio of series accounts as well as take responsibility for forecasting and budgeting across clients. A clear and confident delegator, you are an excellent team player and are invested in the development and management of junior members of the team. You must have strong relevant proven experience in the entertainment industry, be hugely dedicated and always maintain the highest standards.


Responsibilities

Client relationships

  • Overall point of client contact on your accounts
  • Begin to build widespread relationships with clients positioning yourself as a trusted advisor
  • Responsible for day-to-day client management and liaison and assistance on campaigns and submissions strategy
  • Responsible for working with account executives to summarise data and collating reports
  • Forecasting and tracking budgets and expenditure across clients
  • Beginning to develop industry relationships with awards bodies, moderators and tastemakers
  • Building strong relationships both internally and externally within the industry
  • Consistently look for new ways to meet clients’ needs
  • Talking to the client to be a trusted advisor within your speciality and how you can continually better our work together

Strategy and commercial awareness

  • Track publicity items in newspapers/trades/etc.; follow and review industry news and trade press daily
  • Track social media content streams and trends
  • Developing connections with key trade journalists and media sources, contacting the press over the phone and via email
  • Providing research support for new business pitches
  • Responsible for the on-going analysis and reporting of awards competitive landscape
  • Begin to pull together client reports
  • Begin to assist with budgeting, profitability and scope of work
  • Begin to assist with budgets and scopes of work
  • Begin to lead on campaign strategy and decks

Delivery

  • Gathers, shares and acts upon client feedback throughout all delivery
  • Responsible for the on-going analysis and reporting of submissions and campaigns through frequent weekly, monthly, yearly, per campaign and ad-hoc detailed reports
  • Updating the team on awards news, trends and innovative campaigns
  • Ensures management and successful delivery of client expectations, keeping all stakeholders happy
  • Leading on talent logistics for Q&As, events, award ceremonies etc
  • Drafting attendance and feedback reports following screenings and Q&As
  • Responsibility for the accuracy of all work before approval with best practice, accuracy and innovation
  • Ability to pull ad-hoc reports when needed by the client
  • Leading on key client projects to oversee the junior members to ensure quality output and to be the client lead on them

People

  • Maintain professional manner and demonstration of strong work ethic towards account teams and company as a whole

  • Become invested in growing the experience of members of the team through their work with you
  • Mentor and coach more junior team members, building their knowledge, understanding and expertise
  • Beginning to manage the junior members (SAE, account executives and assistants) within your accounts to assist with their progression and output


Knowledge, skills & experience

  • Demonstrable experience working in the entertainment industry at mid-level with an in-depth knowledge and love of film and TV
  • Good working knowledge of various awards bodies, submissions process and the UK TV landscape
  • Experienced in assisting and supporting a wider team
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organised to meet multiple deadlines across a variety of projects
  • A team player, willing to share knowledge and discuss approaches and tactics but also able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Pro-active & intuitive
  • Self-motivated, a self-starter who takes initiative and follows through
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn, and a can-do attitude to apply to difficult challenges and tasks
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • A desire to progress and enthusiasm for new challenges
  • Good analytical skills and can pull out key learnings and trends for reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet research
  • Willingness to travel, and available to attend networking events and support the team at other work events
  • Experienced in managing a team of executives desirable
