 Responsibilities

  • Building and maintaining relationships and contact with media, clients and associates.  
  • Planning, running and reporting on small-scale press campaigns as allocated by the Directors and under their supervision. This will include media monitoring.  
  • Supporting press campaign work undertaken by the Publicists and Directors. 
  • Managing, delivering or assisting with small social media campaigns if required. This includes the day-to-day running of the channels (copywriting, gathering and creating content and so on) as well as content planning under the supervision of the Publicist and/or Senior Digital Manager. This may include small design jobs in e.g. Canva.  
  • Dealing with requests for images, footage, press information, interviews and press tickets. 
  • Live event support and attendance at events as required.  
  • Some flexibility due to the nature of the work, including travelling for work.  
  • Actively contributing to the company’s social platforms and website content. 
  • Contributing to the smooth running of the Company’s day-to-day business as well as using and helping manage relevant tools as requested by the Company, e.g. Company calendar, media database, SharePoint/OneDrive, HiBob and so on.  
  • Occasional request for help with a campaign you are not directly involved in, if required.  
  • Contributing to general office housekeeping and office building housekeeping as required.
  • Attending regular check-ins with your line manager and an annual appraisal. 
  • Any other duties within reason as requested by your line manager, campaign manager or the directors.  

Not obligatory: 

  • Attendance at the Company’s social events or days away, organised and ad hoc. 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Experience and passion for working within arts PR   
  • Experience of working onpress campaigns  
  • Understanding of media and journalism landscape  
  • An excellent communicator, verbally and in writing 
  • Good at collaborating as part of a team  
  • A positive attitude in their approach to all tasks  
  • Impeccable attention to detail and is extremely organised 
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office programmes  
  • Knowledge and experience of social media and influencer engagement
  • Ability to prioritise and manage several tasks at once, and work to tight deadlines

Remuneration, benefits and holiday entitlement:

  • Salary bracket: £23,000 - £26,000 per annum, paid monthly
  • Working hours: 35 hours per week, 9.30am to 5.30pm – occasional evening and weekend work required, flexible working available as agreed with line manager
  • 31 days holiday annually pro rata (includes Scottish bank holidays) + 2 over Christmas
  • Responsible to the appointed Publicist or Director
