We’re on the lookout for a communications officer to join the team!

Sounddelivery Media is a charity amplifying lived experience and expertise to address social inequalities. We look to address representation and diversity of voice in the media and in other places where change happens. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get into the charity sector, and who loves working as part of a team to get a wide range of voices heard. You’ll be involved in all aspects of our work; our Spokesperson Network programme, client work, training workshops we deliver and communicating our impact online. 

 

What you’ll be doing – responsibilities: 

Digital communications

  • Creating powerful content to share online
  • Design and create content from our network; vlogs, videos, graphics, audio clips for social media.
  • Implement the social media strategy on our channels: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Showcase successes on social media, and monitor social media more widely
  • Curating our monthly newsletter with our Communications Manager 
  • Researching media platforms and opportunities for our network.
  • Updating our wordpress website to show our impact 
  • Learn new tools for design - Canva, Headliner 

Research 

  • Research ideas and content for training workshops and design training materials including powerpoint presentations. 
  • Research fundraising opportunities for the senior team to action
  • Take the lead on identifying events and other opportunities to publicise the organisation and its campaigns

Administration

  • Assisting in the everyday running of the charity - undertake administrative work generated by the post
  • Logistics for workshops and events from booking catering, travel accommodation and venues. 
  • You'll capture the impact of our work, design surveys, and keep our CRM up to date with the support of the team. 
  • Working alongside the team to organise and deliver Sounddelivery Media’s live events and client events. These include learning lunches and our Festival of Learning

This role will be line managed by the Communications Manager.

 

Knowledge, skills, experience 

  • Passion for social justice 
  • At least 1 year work experience in an organisation with a relevant background. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Social Media skills and understanding with a particular focus on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.  You thrive on being creative
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload, deal with conflicting demands and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail
  • Administration skills 
  • You are able to work both on your own and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

 

This experience is not essential, but we'd love to hear if you have any of the following...

  • Experience working in a communications environment
  • Design Skills, Canva, Photoshop etc. 
  • Multimedia skills e.g. video & audio editing 
  • Knowledge of Wordpress
  • Interest in the way the media works 

You will be regularly supported by the team and will have tasks and goals to complete. Training provided as part of this role including coaching.
