Digital communications trainee, Classical Music

Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm (weekdays) with 3 days per week required in central London office. Occasional out of hours work essential.
Holiday: 20 days (plus public holidays)

An exciting opportunity for a digital native to establish their career in the classical music industry.
Premier has over two decades' experience of delivering world-class communications campaigns for the entertainment, arts and cultural industries. With specialist knowledge of film, television, publishing, gaming, classical music, performing arts, consumer brands and not for profit, Premier provides a complete creative communications solution.
In this role you'll be supporting the delivery of digital strategies for a range of world-class orchestras, festivals, venues, individual artists and high-profile projects, as part of the Premier Arts & Culture team. We are offering a paid, full-time, year-long trainee position for a motivated and enthusiastic individual wishing to build their CV, develop their digital skills and gain valuable experience and insight into the arts industry, primarily in classical music.
The successful candidate will feel at home in our fast-paced and dynamic department with a reputation for a top-level client list, strong teamwork and excellent delivery for its clients. There will be opportunities to be directly involved in projects, attend performances and events and get on-the-job training with experienced digital communications professionals. A keen interest in the latest digital trends is paramount to the position as it will feed directly into the service we provide for our clients.
What you'll do
- Planning and scheduling social media posts
- Drafting social media copy
- Monitoring trends on social media platforms
- Cataloguing photo and video content
- Maintaining a social media database
- Social media influencer research
- Community management via a social media management tool
- Updating websites with copy, photos and videos
- Digital audits of online profiles
- Creating asset templates and tone of voice guidelines for clients
- Tracking and reporting on KPIs as set by line-manager
- Preparing pitch decks for new client opportunities
What you'll bring
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a Digital Marketing or Communications role, with a focus on social media (paid, unpaid or voluntary)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and in-person
- Experience publishing content on social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, TikTok
- Experience with video content capture for Instagram reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts
- Familiarity with a website CMS such as Wordpress or Squarespace
- Photo and video editing skills on Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar
- Confidence and fluency in writing about classical music
- Ability to prioritise workload with many moving parts
- Ability to brainstorm creative content ideas in response to client briefs
- Computer literate including word processing, databases and spread sheets
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- A keen interest in the performing arts, particularly Classical Music
