Love creating engaging content? This paid internship is perfect for an early career digital marketer looking to work on meaningful projects in the arts and heritage sector.

The Harley Foundation is an independent charitable trust which supports the visual arts and crafts. It has created award-winning visitor attractions, a community of artist’s studios, and a vibrant event and education programme on the historic Welbeck estate in Nottinghamshire.

In this Digital Marketing internship, you will be creating short and long-form pieces about objects in the museum and topics you feel would be interesting to their existing audiences and which would attract new visitors. This would include writing, filming and editing short-form videos for social media platforms as well as website articles.

What you'll be doing

  • Learning how to work as part of a small committed team in a heritage and contemporary art venue
  • Working with the marketing team to find out how to successfully reach a broad base of visitors
  • Building your digital skills in filmmaking, editing, and copywriting
  • Developing your transferable skills e.g. time management, negotiating with others, and successfully putting your point of view across
  • Researching suitable and interesting topics using the objects in the museum displays to draw out stories you find interesting and engaging
  • Writing 500-word articles for the website and transforming these articles into short-form films for Instagram and TikTok

What we're looking for

  • Familiarity with creating content for social media
  • Ability to create written content; we are looking for a unique voice and point of view
  • Passion for expanding audiences in arts, art galleries, museums, or heritage sites
