Join a leading outdoor arts organisation and develop key skills needed to purse opportunities in the creative industries.

We are looking for two emerging creatives, based in Greater Manchester, to join our team on a part time basis (3 days a week) for up to 6 months.

Walk the Plank is one of the UK’s leading outdoor arts organisations with a reputation for creating innovative productions and performances which engage artists and communities in a wide range of outdoor settings. Walk the Plank’s track record of making work that engages citizens in public celebration is founded on ambitious creativity that connects with everyone. From fire gardens and site-responsive installations to parades and festivals, the company consistently attracts acclaim and showcases talent. To explore what we do, have a look at our showreel.

You will learn by doing, shadowing others and gain experience working with different teams. For example, you will spend time working with producers and production managers, as well as with our marketing department and working on Walk the Plank’s projects. You will be supported by a project manager throughout your time with us.

The position will start from March 2026, and can be flexible depending on your existing commitments. Here is a rough project timeline:

  • March: Join regular team meetings, visit event locations, meet with the creative teams, work as part of the team at our Salford HQ
  • April - August: Live events taking place
  • September: Evaluation
