
Finance and operations analyst (part-time)
Salary: £30,000-35,000 pro-rated
Contract: Part-time 3 days per week
Duration: 12 month, with the expectation to extend

Take ownership of financial systems, reporting, and day-to-day bookkeeping in a fast-moving creative agency.

We are looking for a finance and operations analyst to own the day-to-day financial administration of the business, to help us improve commercial visibility across projects and clients, maintain accurate financial records, and develop systems and processes that help the company operate more efficiently.
This is a new role for Reach, and an incredible opportunity for the right candidate to come in and have a genuine impact on how the company is run. Working closely with our head of production, COO and CFO, you’ll be helping us to ensure our financial processes are robust, our reporting is accurate, and we have clear visibility of project profitability across the business.
You'll be responsible for the smooth running of the company's financial administration while helping us develop better systems for tracking project performance, profitability and operational efficiency. You'll take ownership of many of the day-to-day finance functions and play a key role in helping us build a more mature and scalable operation.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes pride in their work and is keen to get their hands dirty. They will be adaptable, agile and open - excited to learn and ready to shape the role and the processes associated with it. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. As our lead on-site financial resource, we do need you to be either AAT Level 4 qualified or a part qualified ACCA/ CIMA. We’re looking for someone with strong ideas and opinions, passionate about efficiency and data, and who is ready to become deeply invested in our company. Primary Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records
- Raise and issue client invoices
- Process supplier invoices and payments
- Manage payroll and pension administration
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Ensure expenses are accurately recorded and allocated
- Ensure project costs and revenue are accurately tracked
- Support reporting on project and client profitability
- Improve financial and operational processes across the business
- Manage and improve financial data structures and reporting processes
- Support the ongoing development of our time-tracking and project costing systems
- Identify opportunities to reduce administrative burden and improve efficiency
- Work closely with directors and department leads
- Produce reports and analysis to support decision-making
- Help maintain accurate and accessible management information
- Support wider operational initiatives as the business evolves
Skills and experience:
You’ll likely have experience in finance, bookkeeping, management accounting or financial operations - but you’re equally comfortable thinking about processes, systems, and how businesses work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong bookkeeping and financial administration experience (AAT Level 4 or part qualified ACCA / CIMA)
- Experience of management accounting is essential
- Enjoy process and improving systems
- Can work independently and take ownership of projects
- Are confident in working with a range of people
- Experience of project-based businesses is desirable
- Experience of Xero is desirable
