We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. You will be an integral part of the Simon & Schuster UK Finance team, supporting the Financial Accountant and Financial Controller with administration and reconciliation of key accounting areas.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant this role will be responsible for ensuring completeness, efficiency and accuracy of financial records for employee expenses, banking, marketing costs, stock receipts and digital revenue. As the key contact for the immediate Finance team for relevant accounting areas; for the wider business concerning employee expenses; for the editorial and publicity teams concerning marketing costs; for our distributor and the Simon & Schuster UK sales team concerning marketing deductions.


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, a keen eye for detail, ability to work to deadlines, and impeccable organisational skills.
  • The individual will be a proactive and self-motivated team player who is confident, professional and conscientious.
  • Good grounding of administration is essential and able to work in an office environment.
  • Previous experience in an administrative role is desirable, with experience of Microsoft 365 applications and good IT skills.
