Bloomsbury is looking for an experienced finance professional to fill this senior role.

This role sits within the business partnering team, located at Bloomsbury’s head office in Bedford Square, London. The role will report into the senior global finance business partner. This is an opportunity to support the non-consumer business partnering team.


Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly reporting packs for the MD of the non-consumer division, summarising performance against budget and prior year Explaining variances with commercial and insightful commentary
  • Preparing non-consumer flash sales analysis on a monthly basis and distribution to stakeholders
  • Managing forecasting processes for the non-consumer division, assessing risks and opportunities to the plan
  • Assisting with presentations for the Group’s EC and Board on the non-consumer budget, reforecasts and 5-year strategic plans
  • Presenting financial information and performance at non-consumer Exec meetings
  • Driving improvements in the forecasting processes, focusing on process efficiencies and automation
  • Business partnering with stakeholders across the non-consumer division and providing insights to assist with the delivery of business objectives
  • Business support for the non-consumer division and liaison with its senior management with ad hoc analysis requests, including preparation of business cases for external pitches, business/list valuations, due diligence documentation
  • Maintain and develop management reporting and KPIs
  • Support the business on financial aspects for existing assignments, bids, proposals, pricing and reviewing commercial contracts as appropriate
  • To work with the group finance director and members of the Executive Committee as required on key projects, including complex modelling
  • Assist with the delivery of the Year End and Interim external results, announcements and City presentations
  • Assist with data governance and improving data quality to be able to drive insights
  • Assist with streamlining of Global Non-Consumer overheads reporting
  • Ad hoc project work


Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Qualified Accountant (or equivalent) with experience gained in a series of dynamic, change-orientated businesses
  • Experience of business partnering with senior stakeholders to help deliver on business objectives
  • Able to develop successful relationships with senior staff across the Group
  • Proactive, energetic, pragmatic and hardworking
  • Highly resilient and adaptable – able to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Able to identify and raise risks, threats and opportunities to business plans
  • Experience of delivering forecasts in a high pressure, commercial environment
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functionality (sumifs, vlookup and pivot tables)
  • There is a requirement to use Power Query for large data sets – experience or ability to learn is required
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering process and systems improvements


Additional information

The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Tuesday and Thursday.
