As we continue to build our team in Scotland, and our portfolio of clients across travel, tourism and luxury brands, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Digital & Content to lead and develop our digital work and reputation.
Role overview
- This is a rare opportunity to join the Scotland based team at Premier as Head of Digital & Content. A key member of the senior management team, in this key role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive social media strategies that align with our clients' objectives and drive awareness, audience growth, and community engagement.
- Premier has a broad portfolio of clients in Scotland and the North, including festivals, theatre companies, production companies, musicians, distributors, Scottish brands, studios and cinemas. You will oversee creating innovative social media amplification for key clients in the mix.
- Leveraging your deep understanding of the digital and social media landscape including industry trends, you will work cross-functionally across the Scotland team who provide leading PR for the arts, entertainment, destination, travel, tourism, luxury brands and events industries. Working both independently and alongside existing teams you will ensure the delivery of high-quality campaigns that effectively promote our clients' projects and initiatives across digital platforms and opportunities.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Strategy and Innovation
- Develop and implement result-oriented social media strategies tailored to each client’s specific goals, ensuring brand consistency and impactful storytelling across all platforms.
- Drive innovation and creativity in social media campaigns, exploring new platforms, features and trends.
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, algorithms and best practices.
- Identifying and advising clients on website and SEO improvements.
- New Business Generation
- Seek out and identify additional revenue opportunities from existing clients, working with the wider team to position Premier as a leading provider of social media campaigns.
- Plan and implement annual new business strategies to target new areas for growth.
- Constantly explore how Premier can add to their offering, delivering growth through new business acquisition and by innovating our practices and developing the team
- Create and present new business strategies to new and current clients.
- Contribute to wider agency new business pitches where appropriate.
- Leadership and Team Management
- Contributes to and participates in Senior Management discussions at Premier Scotland.
- Foster professional development within the wider team in accordance with Premier’s values
- Build, train and maintain a team of social media experts, both through internal training and best practice guidelines and through external recruitment where appropriate and in line with new business growth
- Share and feedback key insights to the team
- Content Creation and Curation
- Oversee the creation of engaging and innovative social media content, including everything from concept creation to finished content, ensuring this adheres to client brand guidelines and resonates with the target audience
- Working to develop content creation opportunities with Premier’s in-house creative team and art director, in addition to creating social content independently to service client requirements.
- Influencer Engagement
- This role will involve a deep understanding and knowledge of the overall influencer landscape and be able to identify relevant content creators to develop impactful partnerships for campaigns.
- Paid Digital
- Advising, devising and delivering paid digital campaigns for clients.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- At least 6+ years in social media/digital/marketing/PR
- Track record of developing innovative and engaging social media campaigns for a range of projects that stand out in a competitive landscape
- Strong contacts in Scotland and the North, and understanding of and passion for arts and entertainment
- Dynamic leader; proven ability to lead and inspire, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Driven and passionate about the world of social media and consistently on the pulse with new trends
- Analytical mindset, demonstrating proficiency in analysing social media metrics and data
- Collaborative; showcasing ability to work with other departments and integrate social media strategy into a wide range of entertainment projects
- Resourceful and adept at finding solutions when challenges arise
- Impeccable organisational skills and proven ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Adept at managing a range of budgets
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
