What you'll be doing

As the Head of Product Marketing, you will lead a team of Product Marketing Managers, responsible for the strategic marketing direction of the Hachette Learning portfolio. You will shape our messaging and positioning and work with the Demand Gen team to bring your strategies to life. You will own the go-to-market strategy, launch new products and solutions and be responsible for driving revenue growth as well as ensuring alignment with market needs across the globe. You will lead a product marketing team and collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management teams as well as Customer Success to ensure a coherent end-to-end experience across the entire customer journey.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our customer segments, their pain points and how Hachette Learning solves them.
  • Craft a strategic, revenue-generating marketing strategy for the Hachette Learning portfolio.
  • Oversee the launch of new print, digital products and subscription products to international education markets.
  • Collaborate with demand generation to drive leads through innovative, multi-channel digital campaigns.
  • Create high-quality product marketing content: sales enablement tools, battle cards, messaging docs, commission blog posts, case studies, video testimonials.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Comms team to develop thought leadership content that establishes our expertise.
  • Mentor and manage a high-performing product marketing team.
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, customer success, and platform teams to ensure cohesive go-to-market strategies and translate product features into customer value.
  • Drive competitive research and help us stand out in a crowded marketplace.
  • Manage the product marketing budget and identify opportunities for efficiency and growth.
  • Leverage data and CRM tools to inform decision-making and customer profiling.
  • Evaluate campaign performance and adjust strategies to maximize ROI.
  • Represent product marketing in key stakeholder forums and contribute to product readiness evaluations.

Who we are looking for

Skills & Attributes

  • Significant experience in product marketing experience in a B2B environment, ideally in education.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong customer-centric mindset.
  • Strong writer and storyteller, capable of creating compelling value propositions.
  • Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing analytics tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing marketing budgets.

Experience Required

  • Significant experience in an international B2B product marketing leadership role, ideally in education.
  • Demonstrated success in launching subscription-based products.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Track record of building brand visibility and driving revenue growth through digital campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience of marketing to international educational institutions.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Creatio, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in marketing or project management (CIM or equivalent).

This role can be based at our London or Sheffield offices with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
