Are you passionate about improving the prospects for young storytellers within film and tv?

We are looking to recruit an energetic and driven individual for the role of Industry Department Assistant at LSA. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic at the prospect of working with young people and have the admin and organisational skills to support the LSA Industry department in providing broad ranging industry engagement programmes to London Screen Academy students.

This unique role requires an individual who is a self starter and successful multitasker, who can assist the Industry department’s three programme managers and the dept director; can support students to engage with LSA’s industry engagement programme and can effectively communicate with professionals working within the creative industries.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the three Industry Dept. Managers and the Dept Director with administrative, logistical and technical support to ensure the effective delivery of all of the industry engagement programmes and opportunities which the provides for the LSA community
  • Liaising with industry professionals to ensure effective management of the safeguarding, logistical and technical requirements of their work with LSA
  • Supporting LSA students to maximise their awareness of and engagement with the industry engagement opportunities provided to them whilst at LSA
  • Undertaking the administrative tasks required for Industry trips for students e.g. set visits, studio tours etc., including completing risk assessments, journey planning and obtaining parental consents
  • Assisting in the creation of effective department communications to effectively promote the work of the industry department and the industry engagement activities it creates both internally to the LSA community (staff, students & parent/ carers) and externally to professionals working within the creative industries
  • Maintaining Industry Dept. tracking systems to record industry engagement opportunities to ensure accurate data is recorded regarding both student and Industry partner engagement
  • Timely and comprehensive communication with specialist teams, including technical, IT and premises departments to ensure successful execution of industry engagement activities within the LSA building
  • Generic research to support the work of the Industry Department

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Strong interest in and a good understanding of the UK creative industries
  • Motivated to work with young people to support their professional development and achievement of their career goals
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced busy school environment
  • Fully commit to LSA’s supportive but challenging ethos and culture
  • Thrive on working in teams but able to work independently
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Confident and outgoing both on the phone and in-person
  • Self starter and problem solver
  • Strong computer skills (GSuite, Canva, AirTable, Substack all used - training can be provided)

  • Creative Industry experience
  • Experience of working with young people (desirable)
