Our focus is on maximising the global reach of our fantastic publishing programme and fostering strong relationships with partners throughout the bookselling chain, from major retailers and distributors through to influencers and independent booksellers. 

As an International Sales and Marketing Executive, you'll be an integral part of the International Sales Team. You will support our efforts in marketing, publicity, and sales, helping to broaden our reach directly to retailers and consumers. You'll work closely with the Head of International Sales to create powerful marketing materials, manage digital assets, and enhance our sales strategy, contributing significantly to our team's objectives and priorities.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Head of International Sales on the briefing and creation of ad hoc catalogues, adverts, digital assets, point-of-sale, and general marketing materials
  • Distribute sales materials and maintain regular communication with sister companies and key accounts
  • Drive content plan and track engagement with the Pan Macmillan Export Instagram
  • Provide administrative and logistic support for book fairs and author events
  • Enhance direct-to-consumer engagement by developing an international influencer network, managing NetGalley and blogger requests, and maintaining a tracker for literary festival appearances to support targeted publicity efforts
  • Support retailer engagement through digital asset coordination and author video promotions
  • Analyse engagement and manage a selection of digital newsletters, ensuring effective communication of new titles.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

  • Excellent administration and organisational skills 
  • Ability to multitask, juggle a busy workload, and stay calm under pressure 
  • Ability to communicate confidently and build strong working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to react quickly when required
  • Design skills and experience working with Canva or Photoshop
  • Passion for books.

Desirable

  • Experience with working to deadlines
  • Have used or are familiar with Google for Work (Gmail and Google applications)
  • Experience working as a bookseller or in publishing.

This is a full-time, permanent role, and will be based in our offices in Farringdon, London, with some flexibility to work from home each week.
