Location: The WFTV office is currently based in a shared workspace in Somerset House, London. We operate on a hybrid basis and staff are required to come into the office a minimum of two days a week.


Take the lead on bold, purpose-driven marketing and communications campaigns that champion women's voices and drive impact across film and TV.

Women in Film & TV (UK) is the leading membership organisation for women working in creative media across the UK and is part of a global network of more than 12,000 women. Our members represent a wide spectrum of roles across the film and television industry. We deliver a year-round programme of in-person and online events, host a prestigious annual awards ceremony each December, and run the Four Nations Mentoring Scheme for mid-career professionals. Additionally, we collaborate with industry partners on research projects, manage bursary initiatives, and advocate for gender equality within the screen industries.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic marketing and communications manager to lead the delivery of WFTV’s communications strategy. This pivotal role within a small, fast-paced team offers a unique opportunity to shape how WFTV engages with its community, expands its membership, and champions the voices of women across film and television. You will be responsible for leading multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns that support WFTV’s events, mentoring programmes, and flagship initiatives, including the annual WFTV Awards, Four Nations Mentoring Scheme, Screenwriters’ Lab, and Fearless Leadership Programme.

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and digital all-rounder with a passion for equality in the screen industries. You’ll manage everything from social media and email content to stakeholder communications and brand consistency, while also supporting partnerships and sponsorship fulfilment.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a clear, effective marketing and communications strategy aligned with WFTV’s goals
  • Design and deliver creative, high-impact marketing campaigns for WFTV’s programmes, events, and advocacy initiatives, including professional development schemes and the WFTV Awards
  • Manage content delivery across all channels including social media, email, website, and press
  • Uphold and champion WFTV’s brand identity and tone of voice across all communications
  • Lead communications aimed at members, including newsletters, event promotions, surveys, and storytelling content
  • Oversee the production of high-quality digital content—articles, videos, blogs, and social media assets
  • Edit both short-form and long-form video content for events and campaigns
  • Track and analyse performance data across platforms (Wix, Google Analytics, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Vimeo) and produce monthly performance reports with actionable insights
  • Support the CEO and board with materials for sponsorship, advocacy, and strategic initiatives
  • Coordinate press and media activity in partnership with WFTV’s external PR agency and other key stakeholders
  • Maintain and update key pages of the WFTV website and manage website content in line with brand and campaign goals ensuring SEO best practices and optimisation across the site
  • Maintain GDPR compliance and resolve technical issues across platforms (Wix, Mailchimp, MemberSpace, social tools)
  • Act as lead for WFTV’s CRM system, managing setup, functionality, and ongoing use
  • Lead social content planning, scheduling, and publishing across all platforms (X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, BlueSky)

Knowledge, skills and experience

Essential

  • Extensive proven experience and expertise in digital marketing and communications
  • Strong strategic thinking with hands-on delivery capabilities
  • Proven experience in multi-channel marketing, including web, email, and social media
  • Proficiency in platforms such as Mailchimp, Wix, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and CRM systems
  • Excellent copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills across different formats and audiences
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Experience managing content calendars, freelancers, and creative assets
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and with external partners
  • A clear passion for gender equality and WFTV’s mission
  • Competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

Desirable

  • Experience within a membership organisation or non-profit
  • Familiarity with the film, television, or wider cultural sectors
  • Knowledge of tools such as Zoom, Typeform, and additional CRM platforms
  • Awareness of accessibility and inclusion best practices in communications
