This is an opportunity for a creative and highly organised individual to join Forward Arts Foundation's ambitious and dynamic team.

The marketing and development coordinator will support the co-Executive Directors and Head of Programmes to deliver creative, engaging marketing strategies for our programmes, comms for donors and efficient administrative systems for our fundraising and development work. You will use digital media to enhance Forward's visibility within the education and culture sectors and beyond. Your support in executing marketing activities will be crucial in driving our broader growth ambitions.

This role will report to the co-Executive Directors, and you will be integral in helping to widen contemporary poetry's audience, honour achievement and support underrepresented talent.

This is a part-time role (17.5 hours/week) that requires some flexible hours as needed, with quarterly travel to London if you are not already based there. You can work from home or in our shared workspace in Liverpool or London.

We are offering this role under two contract options.

Permanent, part time contract:

  • 0.5 FTE, 2.5 days/week
  • £30,000 per annum pro rata
  • Pension contribution and holiday entitlement

Freelance contract:

  • 12-month contract with an intention to renew
  • Rate of £150 per day for up to 130 days of work

Key responsibilities

  1. Showcase the charity to external audiences, particularly donors and high-profile stakeholders.
  2. Gather the information needed to demonstrate impact for our stakeholders, including donors, high-profile supporters, and national and international audiences.
  3. Lead on organisational branding, writing impact reports, developing event collateral and other impact focussed external communications.
  4. Create compelling and emotive narratives, highlighting the power of our work, the stories of our beneficiaries and the importance of our artform.
  5. Develop and deliver a regular cycle of effective campaigns to engage new supporters with our mission and our work.
  6. Manage and maintain databases (CRMs) to track up-to-date donor information and data on fundraising activities.
  7. Handle donor communications, including thank you letters and event invitations.
  8. Assist with event planning, including managing RSVPs and booking venues and coordinating with suppliers around fundraising events.

Person specification

1. Experience and knowledge

  • Experience of delivering organisational communications
  • Experience of managing social media and using analytics insights to inform content strategy
  • Experience of copywriting and editorial input
  • Experience of supporting events delivery
  • Familiarity Wordpress and Canva are essential; Motion and Salesforce are desirable.

2. Skills and abilities

  • Excellent copywriting skills and ability to create engaging media content
  • Highly organised and able to work from own initiative in managing a complex workload and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills - able to engage a wide range of people with an appropriate balance of warmth and professionalism
  • Attention to detail across promotional and comms materials.
