Support the delivery of marketing campaigns, content and communications across a diverse range of specialist publishing titles.

Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is looking for a Marketing Assistant to work within its Special Interest division. The successful applicant will work across a range of imprints including Osprey Games, Osprey Publishing, Herbert Press and Philip Wilson Publishers, Adlard Coles and Reeds, covering an array of subjects from tabletop games to military history and arts and crafts.

This is an exciting role for an enthusiastic, creative and ambitious individual to join our bright and friendly marketing team based in Oxford, UK.

The role

  • Collaborating with the marketing team to help to create and implement marketing campaigns to drive sales, maximise profit and maintain strong brand awareness.
  • Writing engaging and persuasive marketing copy for use across newsletters, adverts and other marketing materials.
  • Maintain, monitor and create engaging content on the Osprey and Bloomsbury websites and our social media channels.
  • Managing and developing relationships with print and online reviewers.
  • Providing in-house customer support for website, phone and mail and social media enquiries.
  • Assisting with organising and attending events in the UK and abroad.
  • Providing general administrative support for the marketing department, as well as other marketing related tasks.

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Have excellent communication and time-management skills;
  • Be self-motivated with a calm, professional approach, and able to work on their own initiative;
  • Be numerate and computer-literate, with a sharp eye for detail;
  • Be resourceful and proactive in dealing with problems and queries;
  • Have a good grasp of social media and an interest in the digital marketing landscape;

Additional information

The role is a full-time, permanent position.

The role is based at our Oxford office, Kemp House, Chawley Park, Cumnor Hill, Oxford OX2 9PH on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Monday and Tuesday.

This position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. To assist candidates who want to start and to establish a career in publishing, Bloomsbury offers an interest-free rental deposit to support securing somewhere to live. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
