Location: This permanent role can be based at our Sheffield, London, or Bristol office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days).

What you'll be doing

  • Reporting to a marketing manager, the successful candidate will play a key supporting role in delivering the very biggest campaigns across John Murray and Quercus – including Mick Herron and Beth O’Leary – as well as managing their own exciting campaigns and supporting on bookseller outreach and newsletter strategies.
  • As a Marketing Executive for commercial fiction, you will oversee activity on the Quercus social media channels and NetGalley account, and take ownership of the division’s relationship with libraries.
  • With support from your line manager, you’ll also deliver your own allocation of genre fiction campaigns, from spine-tingling crime to swoon-worthy romance.

  • You’ll succeed in this role if you are excited about the idea of connecting books with readers and have a curious, proactive mindset.
  • You’ll be digitally savvy, aware of social media trends, and a confident communicator.
  • You’ll also be very well organised, able to juggle multiple competing deadlines.
  • This role might suit a marketing assistant looking to take their next step in the publishing industry or a marketing executive looking to move into the publishing industry for the first time.
  • A passion for the type of books you’ll be working on is essential.
