Marketing manager

The IPG is the membership body for independent publishers. We are a thriving organisation offering a range of services and activities including our flagship award-winning Conferences, Awards and training. We host collective stands at book fairs and provide mentoring for our members.
We’re looking for a full-time Marketing Manager on a 6-month fixed contract who will be at the centre of all our activity.
You will be responsible for producing successful marketing campaigns that will grow our membership and event attendance.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring key performance indicators to track the success of our marketing campaigns and activities
- Copywriting, editing and publishing articles and other written content
- Overseeing the publication of our book fair stand catalogues, our conference brochures and a series of member reports. Liaising with designers and printers to ensure timely publications
- Spearheading a member recruitment campaign
- Promoting the IPG’s events and activities including our learning and development programme
- Driving the IPG’s social media presence
- Overseeing video and audio content creation
- Identifying new areas for targeted marketing campaigns
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Good copywriting skills
- Professional social media experience, particularly YouTube and TikTok
- Experience using Canva, PowerPoint, MailChimp (or similar email marketing platform) and HTML. InDesign and PhotoShop experience desirable.
- Publishing experience
- Proof-reading skills: accuracy is essential
- Be supremely organised and able to work on your own initiative
- Have excellent collaborative and communication skills
- Enjoy working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Podcast editing experience is desirable
- Demonstrate tenacity and pace on a daily basis to grow membership and attendance

This is a full-time, home-based position on a 6-month fixed-term contract in the first instance. Attendance at IPG key events is required.
