We're looking for a highly creative and consumer focused Marketing Manager to join our award-winning team.

The Orion Publishing Group, a division of Hachette UK, publishes award-winning fiction, non-fiction and gift, and is home to bestselling authors and brands such as Ian Rankin, Adam Kay, Michael Connelly, Candice Carty-Williams, Emily English, Dr Nicole LePera, Brandon Sanderson, Santa Montefiore, Philippe Sands and many more.

This exciting role will sit in our multi award-winning Communications team who have a proud track record of delivering high-impact, creative, sales-driving campaigns to help bring our books and gifts to the widest possible audience.


What you'll be doing

  • You'll lead on your own marketing campaigns, working across the wide variety of Orion's imprints, as well as have the opportunity to work with senior members of the team on some of the biggest brands and launches in the market.
  • You'll play a key role in every step of a book's journey, from acquisition to publication and beyond – devising creative, effective and eye-catching marketing campaigns that bring our books to life, engage consumers and drive sales.
  • You'll be collaborating widely with retailers and influencers, planning and implementing paid and organic digital activity, working with partners and third party stakeholders, maintaining excellent relationships with authors and agents, and reporting on campaign performance throughout.
  • You'll also work closely and collaboratively with wider departments, particularly Publicity, Sales and Editorial, to ensure each publication is perfectly positioned in the market and effectively reaching our target audiences.

  • Our ideal candidate will bring initiative, creativity and passion to their work, and have experience planning and executing standout marketing campaigns.
  • A clear understanding of audience and the wider market is essential, as is a passion and excitement for Orion’s books and gifts.
  • They will have a meticulous eye for detail, experience working with and managing budgets, be highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects and timelines.
  • They’ll also be able to demonstrate first-class communication skills and thrive working and collaborating as part of a team.

The role will be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
