
Marketing operations executive
Salary: £29,000 – £32,000 pa
Location: The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, WC1B 3DP or our Oxford office Kemp House, OX2 9PH, on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are: Wednesdays and Thursdays (in London) or Mondays and Thursdays (if Oxford).
Help ensure the smooth delivery of global marketing operations supporting a wide-ranging publishing portfolio across UK, US and international markets.

Join Bloomsbury’s Academic & Professional (A&P) Marketing & Publicity team in a key global support role that helps deliver impactful marketing activity over a wide-ranging publishing portfolio. Working across the A&P division, this role contributes to the promotion of our award-winning books programme in the UK, US and international markets.
You will collaborate with a large and dynamic global team, including subject and audience marketers, publicity, digital marketing specialists, conferences teams, and author relations, as well as liaising with editors and authors. Reporting into the Head of Digital Marketing & Operations, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth delivery of marketing operations, improving efficiencies, and supporting the team to achieve its collective goals.
The role
- Manage monthly outreach to journal review editors to promote new titles available
- Oversee the awards process, including nominations and submissions for A&P titles
- Coordinate the production of quarterly catalogues and digital subject catalogues with the Design team
- Maintain and update departmental workflows and Wiki resources
- Work with the Head of Digital Marketing & Operations to identify and implement opportunities for streamlining
- Generate reports and provide data support as required
- Support the delivery of marketing campaigns to a brief, including email deployment and creation of marketing, publicity and sales collateral such as flyers and stocklists
- Provide flexible, ad hoc support to the global Academic & Professional marketing team as needed
Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential:
- Relevant experience in academic books marketing
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Ability to work methodically and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Experience working with administrative systems and/or databases
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across global teams
- A can-do attitude and enthusiasm for supporting team members
Desirable:
- Familiarity with email service providers (ESP) and/or content management systems (CMS)

The role is a full-time and permanent position.
This position is eligible for Bloomsbury’s Rental Deposit Loan Scheme. The rental deposit loan can be up to £3,000 and will be paid back over 2 years.
