Curious about a PR career? This six-month paid internship offers you the chance to gain experience in campaign management, media pitching, and more!

Kindred is an independent PR and comms agency delivering positive change. For them, positive change is serious business. They believe strong purpose and strong performance aren’t mutually exclusive. The agency works with brands and organisations that want to achieve both. They create campaigns that have the power to improve the lives of people, strengthen communities and enhance the wellbeing of the world.

They’re looking for an ambitious, organised and eager-to-learn PR intern to join the team delivering standout, award-winning campaigns which earn attention.

This role will sit within the PR team, working with a wide range of people across multiple clients in a variety of sectors and industries.

What you'll learn

  • Planning and evaluating comms campaigns
  • How to craft a story for earned media
  • Selling-in to media
  • Event management

Key activities

  • Project management. You’ll take ownership of account organisation and admin to ensure campaigns run smoothly. On the front foot when it comes to monitoring media coverage and reporting results to the wider team and clients, you’ll play a crucial role in showcasing best-in-class campaigns to clients – and beyond.
  • Conducting research and supporting account teams with idea generation. You will help develop concepts that inform client campaigns and new business efforts. This will also include monitoring and keeping in the know on the latest cultural and industry trends, to ensure clients are advised on how they can be best connected to their audiences.
  • Writing. You'll help develop written materials including press releases, pitches to national, regional and consumer media, as well as client updates.
  • Media relations. You’ll build relationships with journalists and broadcast producers, and you’ll seek out and engage media to sell in stories and secure impactful coverage.
  • Events and photo shoots. You’ll help account teams plan and execute exciting shoots and events that will contribute to the success of a given campaign.

Who we're looking for

  • Someone who has a genuine interest in pursuing communications as a career pathway, and potentially an interest in Kindred's area of expertise (read more here).
  • Have a desire to learn and improve.
  • Be willing to make the most of the opportunity; put the effort in when it comes to gaining exposure across all areas.
  • This is an entry-level role, so no specific professional experience is required.
  • Likewise, a university degree is not necessary for this role.
