What you'll be doing
This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to launch their publicity career in a dynamic and award-winning Publicity department, responsible for promoting bestselling authors including Rebecca Yarros, Ali Hazelwood, Ana Huang, Chloe Walsh, M.W Craven, Elsie Silver and forthcoming celebrity publishing across fiction and non-fiction including Sir Tony Robinson, actress Joanna Page, Staying Relevant Podcast hosts Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson, and many more.
You will work closely with the Publicity Directors, supporting on their campaigns and assisting with author visits and events, as well as liaising with the media, and managing the department’s day-to-day administrative processes. You will be part of a collaborative team, and involved in the creative process from the outset, providing feedback on acquisitions proposals, designing the bi-annual catalogue and creating regular publicity newsletters and internal updates. There will be plenty of opportunity to work on your own campaigns as you gain experience in the role.
Who we are looking for
A confident self-starter, you will thrive in a busy environment and will have a demonstrable interest in publishing and an awareness of how publicity can affect the success of a book. You will be driven, proactive, highly organised, able to multi-task and prioritise effectively and willing to jump in and help wherever needed. You will relish the opportunity to travel with authors, help manage schedules and attend a range of events, some of which will be out of normal office hours.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and spoken, are required, as well as excellent social media skills. A knowledge of Word, Excel, Canva and PowerPoint is vital and a passion for commercial fiction and non-fiction, media in all forms, and communication is a must

The role will be based at our London office, Carmelite House, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.
