An exciting entry-level opportunity in publishing: Simon & Schuster is looking for a publicity assistant to support the busy and dynamic adult books team for 12 months.

Reporting to a senior member of the publicity team, you will provide a range of administrative support to the department. The role will also give the successful candidate the opportunity to be closely involved with publicity campaigns.
Responsibilities
The job role is predominantly administration based including but not limited to; responding to media queries, organising press mailings, supporting senior members of the team with tasks, assisting with author events and signings, collating and distributing media coverage, producing promotional material, processing invoices, organising meetings, arranging travel and hotel bookings, and general publicity contact internally and externally.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, possessing excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as the ability to interact at all levels
- Highly organised, with a meticulous eye for detail and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment, you will have a passion for books and the way in which publishers engage and excite readers
- This role is central to the smooth day-to-day running of an extremely busy team, so a calm and ‘can-do’ manner is essential
- A good understanding of social media, IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel are a must, and a working knowledge of Photoshop would be beneficial
- A good understanding of Publicity campaigns is preferred.
Please note due to the nature of the industry the candidate maybe required to work non-office hours to help support at publicity events, and will ideally be able to be in the office in London at least three days a week.
