Salary: £41,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience and location (+bonus +benefits)

Location: The role will be based at our London or Sheffield office, with a blend of in-office (3 days) and homeworking (2 days) per week.

What you'll be doing

This is an exciting opportunity to join Orion’s award-winning and dynamic Communications team, working across a varied list of fiction, non-fiction and gift publishing. As an experienced, confident and creative senior campaigner, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class, consumer-focused marketing campaigns and will work with a wide range of high-profile authors and brands.

  • Leading the development and delivery of standout marketing campaigns from acquisition through publication and beyond, bringing Orion’s books to life and driving sales
  • Creating bold, insight-led campaign strategies with clear positioning, audience targeting and measurable outcomes
  • Overseeing digital marketing strategy and execution across paid and organic channels, optimising performance through data and analytics
  • Working closely with Editorial, Publicity and Sales teams to ensure campaigns are strategically aligned
  • Driving forward the Gollancz imprint community growth strategy alongside a junior team member
  • Building strong relationships with authors, agents, retailers and external partners to maximise reach and impact
  • Identifying opportunities to grow readerships, build brand equity and deepen direct-to-consumer engagement
  • Leading key launches and major brand campaigns, contributing to the overall success of the Orion list
  • Managing multiple projects and budgets simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience leading creative and effective marketing campaigns. You will enjoy working as part of a creative and supportive team and relish the opportunity to flex your creative muscles – always with an eye on our commercial goals. Our team plays a key role at every stage of our books’ and gifts’ journey, from acquisition to publication and beyond. You will bring excellent market knowledge across a range of genres; experience working on commercial fiction and/or SFF is a bonus, but not essential.

You will be experienced across all aspects of marketing and adept at working collaboratively with publicity, sales and editorial teams to craft pitch-perfect strategies that place the consumer at the heart of every campaign. Thoughtful planning, excellent budget management and timely, confident execution will be hallmarks of your work.You will also be adept in all aspects of stakeholder management and experienced in working across large teams, demonstrating excellent relationship-building, communication and presentation skills.
