We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic (Senior) Marketing Manager (title dependent on experience) to manage industry-best Lifestyle, Cookery and Gift campaigns and grow our online Lifestyle communities. As a team we are active in acquiring and publishing showstopping talent across multiple areas and the new role will be an important voice in this conversation.
You’ll report to the Head of Marketing, Lifestyle, and join an award-winning, collaborative and friendly marketing team that works across Fiction and Non-Fiction. You will inspire those you work alongside and work with them to build effective strategies for brands, imprints, communities and channels, at a pivotal time in Bloomsbury’s divisional growth.
Responsibilities
- Creating, implementing, managing and analysing campaigns which use the full marketing mix to bring our cookery, illustrated and wellbeing titles to life for readers
- Contributing to conversations around acquisitions with strong up-to-date trend and market awareness
- Clearly and effectively communicating strategy and updates with all key stakeholders, internal and external
- Leading the relationship with editorial and sales for your titles
- Devising and delivering the Bloomsbury Cooks brand channel strategy, working closely with the Head of Marketing (Lifestyle) to set and meet KPIs across channels and communities
- Creating engaging and on-point content, ranging from sales materials to consumer-facing assets, from online to outdoor; working with designers and other creative professionals to deliver creatives and visual materials on time and within budget; liaising with external media agencies
- Collaborating with authors and their teams to develop enticing promotional strategies for book campaigns and beyond
- Developing and deepening Bloomsbury’s strong relationship with food and lifestyle influencers
- Proactively pursuing partnerships with brand partners, media partners and key stakeholders to increase brand visibility
- Collaborating with global Bloomsbury marketing teams to ensure joined-up global campaigns
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Strong marketing experience – ideally within non-fiction and/or lifestyle/wellbeing/cookery space
- Experience working with established brands, platform authors and their respective teams
- Creative vision, with excellent negotiation and persuasion skills to see that vision through and bring everyone on the journey
- Superb visual and copywriting skills, with an impeccable eye for detail
- Good understanding of and passion for the cookery, lifestyle and wellness landscape, media platforms, and digital marketing opportunities
- An understanding of and flair for creating engaging social media promotion
- Excellent organisation and multi-tasking skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate to stakeholders at all levels
- Experience cross-promoting with external brands and organisations
The role is based at our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a hybrid-working pattern of 2 days office based / 3 days home based (or fully office based if preferred). Allocated office days for this role are Mondays and Tuesdays.
