
Senior publicity executive

Contract: This is a permanent full-time position based in our London office, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Faber is a leading independent publisher, committed to publishing the world’s most significant voices. The current list spans Nobel laureates, bestselling literary fiction, award-winning non-fiction, poetry, film, classical music and drama alongside an unrivalled backlist. Faber is looking to recruit a senior publicity executive to implement market-leading media campaigns and events for a wide range of titles on the adult list, with a particular focus on non-fiction, including film and history, and some fiction including Faber Editions.
Responsibilities
- To manage high profile, sales-driving lead title campaigns across all media platforms, broadsheet, online, broadcast and events
- To deliver high impact author tours liaising with bookshops, festivals and national institutions
- To draft excellent and selling PR material: press releases, blogs, emails and letters
- Deliver excellent author and agent care
- Cultivate and research excellent media contacts across all channels, be expert in social media and every opportunity for discovery of books
- To manage schedules and all administration associated with the campaign
- The role requires a team player that can work autonomously and manage their own budgets
Knowledge, skills and experience
Reporting to the deputy publicity director, the successful candidate will:
- Have an established network of media contacts across all channels and a strong awareness of social and online media
- Enjoy working as part of a team while managing campaigns autonomously and coordinating author tours
- Have extensive experience working closely with authors and agents, the media and book trade, in addition to colleagues in the editorial, sales and marketing teams
- Have a strong understanding of what is required to drive commercial success and a track record in delivering impactful campaigns, exceptional author care and reaching diverse audiences
- Staying up to date with industry trends and researching new promotional opportunities will be key, as well as contributing to areas of strategic focus for the department
