Salary: National or London Living Wage depending on location

Duration: 6 months

Working pattern: Part-time, 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

Location: Option of working from either Forward’s London, Margate, or Liverpool bases, with at least two days working remotely.

Start date: 17th March 2025

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised, tech-savvy problem-solver, with an enthusiasm for poetry and building social media communities. 

Forward Arts Foundation is a national charity committed to building diverse mass audiences, showcasing the best new work and developing underrepresented talent in poetry.

The trainee will provide marketing and administrative support towards Forward’s national flagship projects: National Poetry Day and the Forward Prizes for Poetry.

The trainee will creatively shape NPD and Forward Prizes’ social media, leading community growth whilst working closely with some of the UK’s highest-quality established and emerging poets.

 

Key activities

  • Overseeing company social media channels, including, Instagram, Twitter, and other relevant platforms
  • Creating dynamic written, graphic, and video content
  • Working with the Head of Programme and external marketing specialists and agencies to manage social media of large projects, events, and community management
  • Writing and distributing e-newsletters to subscribers
  • Managing general inboxes and incoming queries
  • Supporting logistics on organisation-wide meetings

 

What we're looking for

  • An interest in poetry and basic knowledge of contemporary poets
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A skilled problem-solver
  • A good understanding of written and spoken English
  • An interest in developing digital and content creation skills
  • GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
